  • Chipped or cracked teeth
  • Stains or discolouration resistant to whitening

What Our Patients Say

  • I recently got 6 veneers and I’m extremely pleased with the outcome! Dr Sally has given me the confidence to smile again! Thank you Dr Sally, Jess, Baz and Lidia for your fantastic services! 5 stars for Excellence In Dentistry!
    - Nenad P
  • A friend recommended Sally to me when I was complaining about some other dentists I had seen. Over the years dentists had seen me every six months, cleaned my teeth and filled any cavities. The problem was my teeth were wearing down to the dentine. They were brown, crooked and ugly.
Sally worked out a complete treatment plan including Invisalign braces, veneers and crowns. My teeth now look fantastic. I couldn’t be happier with Sally’s work!
    - Murray P
  • Dr Sally and team (Baz and Lidia especially) have been super wonderful throughout the whole process of my braces and veneers! Dr Sally is very knowledgeable and always provided me with information for my best interest! Lidia and Baz are super helpful and extremely efficient in doing the behind the scene things with appointments etc especially given that I always have mini accidents with my braces (oops!).
Thank you so much to everyone at Excellence in Dentistry <3

Porcelain vs Composite: Which One Is Right for You?

Choosing between porcelain and composite depends on your goals and preferences. Porcelain is known for its durability, natural appearance, and resistance to stains, and typically lasts 10-15 years or longer. They require a lengthier process unless created using CEREC® same-day technology.

Composites are made from a tooth-coloured resin and can often be applied in a single visit. While more affordable, they are less durable and last around five to seven years.

Our team will guide you through the options to determine which type suits your needs best.

Preparing for Your New Restoration

The process begins with a consultation to assess your oral health and discuss your smile goals. Depending on your choice of material, the procedure may vary.

When using porcelain, our dentist reshapes your tooth's surface (around 0.5-0.75 mm) before taking impressions for your custom tooth covers. A temporary one is placed while the permanent ones are crafted in a lab. During your second visit, typically about two weeks later, we remove the temporaries and bond the permanent ones to your teeth.

Using advanced CEREC technology, we take digital scans of your teeth and use them to design and mill your veneers in a single appointment. These custom shells are bonded on the same day, streamlining the process.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between porcelain and composite veneers?

Porcelain veneers are crafted from premium ceramic materials, offering exceptional durability, a natural appearance, and strong resistance to staining. They tend to last longer than composite veneers and provide a highly polished, natural look. However, the process for porcelain veneers can take a bit longer unless same-day CEREC technology is used.

Composite veneers, made from a tooth-coloured resin, are a more budget-friendly option. They can often be applied in a single visit, but they are more prone to staining and typically have a shorter lifespan.

Can veneers really be done in one day?

Absolutely! Thanks to CEREC same-day technology, we can design, craft, and fit your veneers all in a single appointment. This advanced system uses 3D imaging and precise milling, eliminating the need for temporary veneers or multiple visits.

Are veneers a good choice for everyone?

Veneers can be a fantastic solution for enhancing your smile by addressing concerns like discolouration, chips, gaps, or slight misalignments. However, a thorough consultation is necessary to ensure your oral health is in good condition and that veneers are the right option for you.

How long do veneers typically last?

Porcelain veneers can last 10-15 years or more with proper care, while composite veneers generally last 5-7 years. To maximise their longevity, practise good oral hygiene and avoid habits like teeth grinding or biting on hard objects.

What’s the best way to care for veneers?

Taking care of your veneers is much like caring for your natural teeth. Brush and floss daily, limit exposure to staining foods and drinks and wear a night guard if you grind your teeth. Regular dental check-ups are key to maintaining the health and appearance of your veneers over time.
