There is a lot of online chatter about teeth whitening at the moment. Even more so than usual, this might have something to do with the surge in demand for tooth whitening. More and more people are looking to whiten their smile safely and effectively.
It could also be because two countries have decided that tooth whitening falls under dentistry and therefore must be performed by a dentist.
Australia isn’t there yet. You can still do-it-yourself tooth whitening kits but you do need to be careful. In 2011, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission had to step in and stop unsafe do-it-yourself tooth whitening kits from being sold. Once the ACCC had complaints that some teeth whitening kits were responsible for injuries such as:
- Chemical burns to the gums and teeth
- Blistering of the mouth and throat
- Sensitive teeth
- Headaches
Tooth Whitening at Excellence in Dentistry
We are not saying that all do-it-yourself tooth whitening kits are dangerous, we’re just saying why risk it? When you come to Excellence in Dentistry in Brisbane you can be assured to get the best tooth whitening treatment available.
There is a reason tooth whitening is one of the most popular cosmetic dental treatments available. When done by a professional, tooth whitening is a safe cosmetic treatment used to visibly brighten your smile. It is also one of the cosmetic treatments being dubbed ‘lunchtime treatments’ because in-office tooth whitening takes an hour or less.
How Excellence in Dentistry Can Whiten Your Teeth
